Money.co.uk has compiled a list of the most beautiful countries in the world, and you might not believe the top ten.
A new study by money.co.uk has revealed the most beautiful countries in the world, but how do you measure a country’s beauty when it is, of course, subjective?
The study aimed to figure out the world’s most beautiful country by analysing the number of natural wonders. This could be from coral reefs and tropical rainforests to glaciers, mountains and more.
The most beautiful country in the world by this analysis? Indonesia. Read on to discover how the website came to this conclusion.
Indonesia voted the most beautiful country in the world – a 7.77 out of 10 rating
Coming in at the top of the list of the most beautiful country in the world is Indonesia. The Southeast Asian country has a natural beauty score of 7.77 out of ten.
Sal Haqqi, the personal finance editor at money.co.uk, said, “While beauty is ultimately subjective, it’s clear that these countries have a lot to offer visitors, whether you prefer adventuring in the mountains or relaxing by the coast”.
Indonesia is home to more than 17,000 islands, one of the natural factors considered in the ratings.
Plus, “just off the shores of these islands, you’ll find over 31,000 square miles of coral reef, teeming with life, much of which can be explored from the popular province of Bali,” says Haqqi.
The most beautiful parts of Indonesia – made up of tropical forests, beaches and more
The most beautiful place in Indonesia is named as Raja Ampat, the stunning collection of islands in the country. Translated to the Four Kings, it’s an archipelago on the northwest tip of Bird’s Head Peninsula in West Papua.
It is made up of hundreds of jungle-covered islands. It’s also known for stunning beaches and coral reefs rich with marine life.
Another part of Indonesia that contributed to its number one ranking is Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sumatra and Kalimantan, home to tropical forests and an orangutan reserve.
The top ten – the rest of the most beautiful countries
Second on the list of the world’s most beautiful countries is New Zealand, which has a score of 7.27 out of ten.
New Zealand is rich in mountain peaks, active volcanoes, rolling hills, a number of majestic glaciers and a stunningly long coastline. You can visit many of these places by using small campers. If you’re travelling with your family, it would be best to rent a campervan.
After New Zealand is Colombia at number three on the list. Much like the two countries before it, Colombia has an expansive coastline. It also has varied landscapes, like the Amazon and the Andes.
The top ten is then rounded out by Tanzania, Mexico, Kenya, India, France, Papua New Guinea, and Comoros. For the rest of the top 50 most beautiful countries in the world, head over to money.co.uk.
